The Great Illusion
We all seem to be insane or at least most of us are as we believe in this physical realm. Believing that this egoistic reality is the true reality is beyond laughable. It is this place that is fraught with duality and an unending supply of false beliefs that only perpetuate the great illusion that this is the real world.
Most believe that there is a heaven and a hell if they believe in an afterlife. They think that they will live on in one or the other for the rest of eternity. Yet, this is something that we’ve been taught from theologians who have interpreted writings that were passed on by word of mouth for centuries. Writings that were translated from the language they were originally written into every language on earth.
Then those translations have been studied and picked apart by scholars, preachers, theologians, and anyone else trying to tell us what was meant. Yet, for all the translations and interpretations we still, for the most part don’t have a clue as to what is the absolute truth.
Is God this deity, living in the heavens, looking down upon us, dictating his will upon us as we plod through life looking for answers in those things written thousands of years ago? Or is God dead as Time magazine ask in 1966?
The question “Who am I?” can never be answered because there is no I. There is only the one.
Enlightenment and Beyond
From the beginning of this life cycle You have believed in the self-defined self, the ego. It has been running and ruining your life since you were born. It is the ego that keeps you from the enlightenment you seek. It has hidden it from you. It has been removed to a place in plain view.
Your are already enlightened. You have been all along. It is in the seeking of it that will not let you find it. It cannot be found, because it’s never been lost. You can’t chase it, cause it ain’t running. When you’re standing on the mountain why follow the path that leads you away.
The ego is blocking, manipulating, running games, feeding you propaganda to keep you under its control. The mind within is in control of the body or shell that temporarily houses the soul, spirit or whatever you want to call it. That mind, or at least the physical part will die with the body, but the knowledge will be passed to the one, and become that which is.
To awaken is to remember all that you are. It’s not transforming into something new. It’s becoming what we already are. There is no change in us. We simply remember what we knew as we should when we’re one. We have the knowledge of the ALL
We awaken into the ALL where there is no separation, no duality, in fact there is no time. What’s more you no longer even think of separation or personal ego. What you are is one. Not your ego. Not your job, your sex, nor any of the other things that are only attached to the sleeping ego driven self you thought you were.
Even though the higher self is part of you many have never really grasped the concept of this. They are blind to the fact that the real you is this higher self. To see this the only change you need to make is a change in perception.
The true self, the higher self is immortal, an essence that emanates from and is part of the Cosmic Mind. To become aware of what you is the dilemma because you cannot see it with your physical egoistic mind. This ego makes many good points, keeping the illusion alive and your perceptions locked into the physical senses.
To see without eyes, to hear without ears, feel without fingers, smell without a nose, taste without a mouth. When there is absolute quiet in a noisy room, stillness in the rivers flow. There is only the moment, static; without time; without movement. There is no future there is no past. There is only the ever-changing moment becoming the next moment. This is enlightenment.
Where you find it is in the stillness, the quiet, the truth. This is obviously not easy to do as it can’t be found for it is where you already are. Letting go of your beliefs, your thoughts, your ideas about who you are is where you begin. Forget all you know and believe as these are just the ego make it up for you.
When you learn to shed the ideals set by your ego then and only then will you be able to focus upon the higher self. The spiritual body is what is real, even though you cannot see it, feel it or know that it exists while you sleep in the egoistic dream..
Wake Up from the Dream
Stop thinking of yourself as a three dimensional being is the first thing you need to do to find your higher self. Know that you are of the ALL and not just a separate entity living upon earth. You are one with all things great and small. You are a part of everything and everything is a part of you.
As you awaken the outside world dissolves away and you lose your sense of self in a world previously unknown to you. This may last a moment as just a glimpse or it can last for a more sustained period. With clarity you will see what we absolutely are that is not limited to the egoistic self we believed ourself to be.
Don’t limit yourself to this small, insignificant planet. Become a citizen of the universe with all its knowledge. Learn to become aware of the oneness that is inside you. Know that it is part of you just as you are part of the ALL.
Think not of the opinions of others. They are trapped in a temporary existence that does not matter when compared to the grand scheme of things. The message you need to hear is the sound of evermore, not the idle gossiping and petty thoughts that emanate from such beings as this.
Bring yourself full circle to the point of creation. Hold within your thoughts the blessing that were first bestowed upon you. The eternal life that is within you is the key to finding your higher self. It will guide you on to greater heights and the fruition of fulfillment in this endeavor.
Contrary to Most Beliefs
Consciously we can control the world we live in by being aware of the thoughts we think. Our world is a world of effect brought about by the causes we have mentally created. Thought is energy and everything is made up of energy. Therefor our thoughts can be anything we want.
The question is how to utilize the power that we have. To ascertain the answer to this question we must delve deep into the mysteries of life and being.
It is very evident that we have a conscious mind and a subconscious mind. The conscious mind thinks and reasons. It experiences the world through our senses and controls our voluntary movement. The subconscious stores our memories, controls our involuntary systems and is the part of us that is connected to the Universal Mind.
The Universal Mind is the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient Mind that is within all of us. It is a part of us just as we are a part of it. This Universal Mind has absolute power. It knows all and sees all. It is every recorded event. It is the past, present and probable future.
We, being a part of this Universal Mind, have the same abilities as the Universal Mind. The problem is that we have forgotten how to tap into this power. Instead we try to change our world by changing the effects created by the thoughts we irreverently used to manifest the cause.
Not knowing what it is that we do, does not alter the fact that we are creating the cause and living through the effects, good or bad. By learning to control our thoughts so that the only thoughts we think are positive and have purpose that promotes the life we want to live is our quest.
As we practice and learn to control our thoughts, only allowing those thoughts of courage, hope, enthusiasm, confidence, trust and faith. True power comes from these thoughts that are in harmony with the Universal Mind.
To understand the world without is only a reflection of the world within we come to realize that we have the ability to create the world we want. When we see the vision and know we have the practical skill to make the vision real we are ready to manifest the life of our desires.
Charles F. Haanel said, “Life is an unfoldment, not accretion. What comes to us in the world without is what we already possess in the world within. All possession is based on consciousness. All gain is the result of an accumulative consciousness. All loss is the result of a scattered consciousness. Mental efficiency is contingent upon harmony; discord means confusion; therefor, he who would acquire power must be in harmony with Natural Law.”
So there is a direct relationship between your thoughts and the life you have created for yourself. The power to create and attain the life you want, the wealth you desire and the ability to shape one’s destiny lies within ordered thought.
This ability is innate in all of us. This power and greatness has been hidden from us, just as so many things, so the precious few could have their moment in the sun. How much further would man be without the interference that men of religion have committed all for their own gain. And the worse part of it is that it still goes on and makes it more difficult for us to have the belief and focus we need to truly do God’s work.
We have to forget the past. We must dismiss the lies the selfish theologians have been telling us all these years. It is time to regain the power the ancients were able to use at will.
There is nothing harder to accomplish than to change. We grow comfortable doing the same things, wearing the same kinds of clothes, eating the same foods, but without change there is no progress. Our thoughts are the same or at least our way of thinking, but in order to progress we must change this as well.
The idea that you can change your world into the world of your desires just by using your thoughts is a new idea for most. We have always tried to change our world by trying to change the objective or tangible things that we can see or feel. These things are the effects set up by the cause created in the world within or the subjective world.
By changing our way of thinking and gaining greater control of those thoughts we can in fact change the cause, which brings on the effects we live within the objective world. Learning how the spiritual side of things works and by becoming attuned to the Universal Mind we can grow to oneness, which is and should be our goal.
Searching For The Higher Self
Though we are all upon a different path, the destination is the same, as we search for the truth and the light. Inside of us there is a soul that is crying to be heard. There is a voice with knowledge of all things, great and small. It is ours to learn and discover and we are the ones responsible to retrieve the information that will allow us to evolve.
The adepts and the messengers are doing what they can to help us. They reach out to us with informatin and knowledge. They are pointing the way, if we will only learn how to listen to them and then navigate our way from their advice. It will take discipline, hard work and diligence, but it is possible. Others have already achieved the goal and now it is ours to do, too.
From The Kybalion
The first of the Seven Hermetic Principles is the Principle of Mentalism, the axiom of which is “THE ALL is Mind; the Universe is Mental,” which means that the Underlying Reality of the Universe is Mind; and the Universe itself is Mental–that is, “existing in the Mind of THE ALL.” We shall consider this Principle in succeeding lessons, but let us see the effect of the principle if it be assumed to be true.
If the Universe is Mental in its nature, then Mental Transmutation must be the art of CHANGING THE CONDITIONS OF THE UNIVERSE, along the lines of Matter, Force and mind. So you see, therefore, that Mental Transmutation is really the “Magic” of which the ancient; writers had so much to say in their mystical works, and about which they gave so few practical instructions. If All be Mental, then the art which enables one to transmute mental conditions must render the Master the controller of material conditions as well as those ordinarily called “mental.”
As a matter of fact, none but advanced Mental Alchemists have been able to attain the degree of power necessary to control the grosser physical conditions, such as the control of the elements of Nature; the production or cessation of tempests; the production and cessation of earthquakes and other great physical phenomena. But that such men have existed, and do exist today, is a matter of earnest belief to all advanced occultists of all schools. That the Masters exist, and have these powers, the best teachers assure their students, having had experiences which justify them in such belief and statements. These Masters do not make public exhibitions of their powers, but seek seclusion from the crowds of men, in order tobetter work their may along the Path of Attainment. We mention their existence, at this point, merely to call your attention to the fact that their power is entirely Mental, and operates along the lines of the higher Mental Transmutation, under the Hermetic Principle of Mentalism.
From Awakening in the All
Truth is a constant. It is never changing. Truth is the bind that tethers us to reality and yet we find that there are realities and there are illusions. The ALL is never changing. It cannot be added to or taken from. It has no beginning and it has no end.
The ALL is truth. It is oneness. It is everything and nothing. If there were places in the ALL each place would be the same as every other place. Nothing is moving for there is no space and time. It exists in harmony. It has rhythm. It has vibration. But there is no emotion, no ego, no duality. It merely exists and is everything and nothing at all.
On the other hand we have this physical reality which is ever changing, filled with duality and emotions. It has time and space. It has a beginning and an end. There is motion without unity. Each of us is an individual an island with our thoughts, our emotions and our ego.
We have our wants and needs. We have our hopes and dreams. We are ambitious, self-centered, self-serving, competitive, greedy, envious, scared, doubtful, and contemptuous. Our mind is closed and we think of how we can become financially free, to have the better things in life.
We try to disguise our disgusting traits and to some degree some of us are successful, but still back in the recesses of our physical mind the urges still lurk. The fact is we all look for the thing that tells us “What’s In It For Me”. The ego has such a firm hold upon what we think, do and say that it is scarcely of anything other than ourselves.
Yet, there are those that rise above this ego when they become awakened. It is a difficult thing to accomplish because of the overwhelming persuasiveness of the ego, but it is something that needs to be done. The ego is for the most part evil or at least the potential to do evil things. Maybe not all the time, but certainly by its very self-centered nature to indirectly cause harmful things to happen to others.
